  1. Wash & Soak Chickpeas in water for 6 to 8 hours. Pressure cook the soaked chickpeas with water 2″ above the Chickpeas. After 1st whistle lower the flame and after another 2-3 whistles switch off the gas.
  2. Open the pressure cooker after 30 minutes. Drain water from chickpeas. Do not throw this water. Use to make Brown chickpea soup. http://kitchenfables.com/home-remedy-for-cold-brown-chicpeas-or-kala-chana-soup-recipe
  3. In a Pan Dry roas Mustard seed, for 3-5 minutes , till they start crackling. Add cumin and roast for another 2-3 minutes. Add Chickpeas , ginger and green chilli. Add 2-4 Tablespoon of Chickpea water. Cover the pan with a lid and let the chickpeas cook for 3-4 minutes. Switch off the flame.
  4. Add grated coconut and cover the lid of the pan. Coconut will release it’s flavour in the steam. At time of serving garnish with fresh coriander and squeeze 1/2 lemon
